In October 2017, the Italian-based payment solution for digital merchants and app developers, Onebip, fell victim to a data breach, resulting in the compromise of data belonging to 2.6 million users. GnosticPlayers, a notorious hacking group, was responsible for the breach. As a consequence, approximately 2 million email addresses and their corresponding passwords were successfully decrypted and obtained in plain text from the compromised data.
