In September 2019, the RuneScape bot provider EpicBot experienced a data breach affecting 817,000 subscribers. The breached data, which included usernames, email addresses, IP addresses, and passwords stored as either salted MD5 or bcrypt hashes, was shared on a popular hacking forum. Despite being contacted about the incident, EpicBot did not provide a response.
