In August 2022, GGCorp, an MMORPG website, suffered a data breach affecting around 2.5 million users. The breach exposed sensitive information, including usernames, email addresses, IP addresses, and passwords. The compromised passwords were stored as Salted MD5 hashes with 2611 iterations, highlighting the importance of vigilance in securing user data.
